Helen Badge Jewellery

A new shine

Jewellery done right

Antique jewellery company Helen Badge Jewellery came to Oena with an ageing site and a dated logo. We worked closely with the businesses owner Andrea to develop a fully fleshed-out brand, ready to modernise their company.

Helen Badge Jewellery has been offering the most stylish antique, vintage and handmade rings since 1983. Helen made her reputation by selling exquisite antique and art deco jewellery while offering excellent customer service at their store in Little Collins street, Melbourne. Under the care of her daughter Andrea, the family business has thrived moving online and now sells to customers around Australia and all over the world.

Helen Badge Jewellery has always kept its design close and personal but with the ever changing world online Andrea thought it was time to bring the business into a new era. Before Andrea got in touch with us her old website and logo were stuck in the past and in drastic need of a new direction.

Moving away from Magento

Introducing WordPress

Whilst Magento has a lot of big benefits, for small businesses it can be extremely costly. Patches are expensive, things can go wrong without any warning and licenses can add up if you go past the community edition. Enter WordPress and WooCommerce.

Easy to use CMS

WordPress backend

We created Helen Badge Jewellery a custom WordPress stack that utilised WooCommerce as it’s eCommerce platform. We wanted to streamline the process for Andrea when it came to adding products and with the move away from Magento, we was able to add a feature she had wanted for a while. This was the ability to offer a ‘desired ring size’ which allowed the customer to select a size they’d like their purchase to be at.

“Oena designed an amazing website for me last year - and my Antique and Vintage Jewellery business improved massively. They listened to all my ideas and often had better ones themselves. I get a lot of great feedback from customers about how wonderful it looks and how easy it is to use.”
